News Overview - Phoenix Contact GmbH takes over SÜTRON
SÜTRON electronic GmbH becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the Phoenix Contact Group
With effect on 1st August 2008, Phoenix Contact GmbH took over the membership shares of founding shareholders Siegfried Buck and Karl Mohn and acquired the SÜTRON electronic GmbH as a wholly owned subsidiary.
SÜTRON electronic GmbH will continue to operate autonomously under the brand SÜTRON and to serve its customers as usual.
Phoenix Contact has had a 33 percent share in SÜTRON since 2000 and markets the SÜTRON operating and monitoring devices under its own name. With 9,300 employees worldwide and a turnover in excess of one billion euro in 2007, Phoenix Contact is a global market leader in the area of electric connection and industrial automation technology.
Acquiring SÜTRON has allowed Phoenix Contact to set up a Centre of Excellence for operating and monitoring devices within the Group, backed up by stronger technological innovation and a broader range of products.
