The summer festival was held on 19 September 2008 at the SÜTRON company premises
The sun shone on this year’s summer festival, which took place on a beautiful Indian summer’s afternoon on the 19th September at the SÜTRON company premises in Filderstadt (Germany).
The event was arranged to celebrate two achievements at once: the 40-year anniversary of SÜTRON electronic GmbH and the welcome news that SÜTRON has joined the fold of the Phoenix Contact Group.
Some colleagues from Phoenix Contact GmbH were therefore also invited to celebrate along with the SÜTRON team and family members. The guests numbered almost 170 in total and were treated to refreshments and a varied programme of entertainment: the highpoint of the programme was the ‘Human Table Football Tournament’ which was won outright by the 'Bandenkicker' team.
Previously, Frank Mohn and Roland Bent had made speeches to officially open the summer festival. Asked about the early days of SÜTRON electronic GmbH, Siegfried Buck, former shareholder and founding member of SÜTRON, regaled his audience with some very interesting anecdotes and amusing tales.
There was also plenty on offer for younger guests: a bouncy castle, face-painting and magicians. A tour around the company premises gave younger (and older!) visitors an impression of the various work processes within the company.
Inside the marquee, the guests sat and chatted or danced to the music provided by the DJ until late into the night, before finally winding down on a convivial note and heading home. Overall, a thoroughly satisfying and enjoyable day was had by all.
